Publication Ethics

Jurnal Pengabdian Bangsa (JPB) is a journal managed by CV Naskah Aceh, Publication Division. JPB is a scientific journal published online and publishes articles or scientific works resulting from research in the field of Multidisciplinary Sciences. This statement of scientific publication ethics is a statement of the code of ethics of all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely managers, editors, peer reviewers, and authors. The Code of Ethics for Scientific Publication essentially upholds three ethical values ​​in publication, namely (i) Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in managing publications; (ii) Justice, which is granting authorship rights to those entitled as authors; and (iii) Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publication.


After reading this Ethics for Scientific Publication, please download the Statement of Ethics and Copyright Agreement. Please sign and submit the Statement of Ethics as part of your initial article submission. The Copyright Agreement must be submitted before the article can be published. The Statement of Ethics and Copyright Agreement can be sent by post, email or fax.

  1. Journal Manager Duties and Responsibilities
    Determine the journal name, scope of science, periodicity, and accreditation if necessary.
    2. Determine the membership of the editorial board.
    3. Define the relationship between publishers, editors, peer reviewers, and other parties in a contract.
    4. Respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors/writers, editors, and peer reviewers.
    5. Apply norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
    6. Conduct journal policy reviews and convey them to authors/writers, editorial boards, peer reviewers, and readers.
    7. Create a code of conduct guide for editors and peer reviewers.
    8. Publish journals regularly.
    9. Ensure the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publication.
    10. Build cooperation and marketing networks.
    11. Prepare permits and other legal aspects.
  2. Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
    Meeting the needs of readers and authors/writers,
    2. Striving to continuously improve the quality of publications,
    3. Implementing a process to ensure the quality of published writings,
    4. Prioritizing freedom of opinion objectively,
    5. Maintaining the integrity of the author's academic track record,
    6. Delivering corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies when necessary,
    7. Being responsible for the style and format of the writing, while the content and all statements in the writing are the responsibility of the author/writer,
    8. Actively soliciting the opinions of authors, readers, peer reviewers, and editorial board members to improve the quality of publications,
    9. Encouraging journal assessments if there are findings,
    10. Supporting initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by asking authors to attach an Ethics Clearance form that has been approved by the Ethics Clearance Commission,
    11. Supporting initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics,
    12. Reviewing the effects of publication policies on the attitudes of authors/writers and peer reviewers and improving them to increase responsibility and minimize errors,
    13. Having an open mind to new opinions or views of others that may contradict personal opinion,
    14. Not defending one's own opinion, the author or a third party that can result in non-objective decisions,
    15. Encouraging authors/writers to make improvements to the written work until it is worthy of publication.
  3. Duties and Responsibilities of Bestari Partners
    Receive assignments from the editor to review written works and submit the results of the review to the editor, as material for determining the suitability of a written work for publication.
    2. Reviewers may not conduct reviews of written works that involve themselves, either directly or indirectly
    3. Maintaining the author's privacy by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations by providing criticism, suggestions, input, and recommendations
    4. Encouraging authors/writers to make improvements to the written work
    5. Re-reviewing the written work that has been corrected according to the specified standards.
    6. The written work is reviewed in a timely manner according to the style of the publication environment based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author legality, conclusions, etc.).
  4. Duties and Responsibilities of Authors/Writers
    Ensure that those included in the list of authors/writers meet the criteria as authors/writers.
    2. Collectively responsible for the work and content of the article including methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
    3. State the source of resources (including funding), both directly and indirectly.
    4. Explain limitations in the research
    5. Respond to comments made by peer reviewers
