Guideline for Authors

ATHTHIB: Journal of Medical Sciences and Public Health

1. Journal Scope

ATHTHIB: Journal of Medical Sciences and Public Health publishes scholarly articles that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in medical sciences and public health, including but not limited to:

  • Clinical Medicine

  • Preventive and Promotive Medicine

  • Public Health

  • Epidemiology and Biostatistics

  • Nutrition and Health

  • Environmental Health

  • Maternal and Child Health

  • Occupational Health and Safety

  • Health Policy and Management

  • Bioethics and Medical Humanities

Manuscripts submitted must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by other journals.

2. Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  1. Original Research Articles

  2. Review Articles / Systematic Reviews

  3. Conceptual Papers or Critical Analyses

  4. Selected Case Reports (with scientific novelty and relevance)

3. General Manuscript Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be written in English or Indonesian, using clear and academic language.

  • Manuscript length: 4,000–7,000 words, including tables and figures.

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).

  • Paper size: A4, margins 2.5 cm on all sides.

  • Line spacing: 1.5.

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt.

  • Page numbers should be placed at the bottom right.

4. Structure of Research Articles

Research manuscripts should be organized as follows:

a. Title

  • Maximum 12 words (English) or 15 words (Indonesian).

  • Clear, concise, and reflective of the manuscript content.

b. Author(s) and Affiliation(s)

  • Full names without academic titles.

  • Institutional affiliation, address, and email of the corresponding author.

c. Abstract

  • Written in English and Indonesian.

  • Length: 200–250 words.

  • Should include background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

  • Followed by 3–5 keywords.

d. Introduction

  • Background of the study

  • Brief literature review

  • Research gap

  • Objectives of the study

e. Methods

  • Study design and approach

  • Study setting and period

  • Population and sample

  • Data collection and analysis

  • Ethical considerations (if applicable)

f. Results

  • Presented clearly and systematically

  • Supported by tables and/or figures when necessary

  • Should not include interpretation or discussion

g. Discussion

  • Interpretation of findings

  • Comparison with previous studies

  • Scientific and practical implications

h. Conclusion and Recommendations

  • Conclusions aligned with research objectives

  • Recommendations for future research or policy

i. Acknowledgements (Optional)

j. References

5. Tables and Figures

  • Table titles should be placed above the tables.

  • Figure captions should be placed below the figures.

  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text.

  • Sources must be acknowledged if adapted from other works.

6. Citation and References Style

  • References must follow APA Style (7th Edition).

  • Minimum 15 references for research articles.

  • At least 80% of references should be from primary sources (peer-reviewed journals) published within the last 10 years.

  • Authors are encouraged to use reference management software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote).

7. Publication Ethics

ATHTHIB adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics, including:

  • Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism (maximum 20% similarity index).

  • Academic integrity and originality of work.

  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest.

  • Ethical approval for studies involving human or animal subjects.

8. Peer Review Process

  • All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.

  • Reviewers are selected based on expertise relevant to the manuscript.

  • Editorial decisions include:
    Accepted | Minor Revision | Major Revision | Rejected

9. Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted through the Open Journal System (OJS) of ATHTHIB by following these steps:

  1. Register as an author

  2. Upload the manuscript file

  3. Complete metadata (title, abstract, keywords, and author information)

  4. Confirm submission

10. Article Processing Charges

ATHTHIB does not charge any submission or publication fees. All articles are published as open access to promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge.
